Live the good life at the 4 star Hotel U232 located in Barcelona's Eixample neighbourhood, near Avinguda Diagonal. This tree-lined boulevard is full of top-end fashion boutiques, excellent restaurants and bars. Try Negre, the beautiful and minimalist restaurant serving up cosmopolitan cuisine with an Asian touch. Another nearby restaurant is The Kitchen (Rosselló 186), also with fusion cuisine and chic design. Getting down to business of tourism, the major sites are a pleasant 15 minute walk to the centre; however public transport, numerous bus lines and Hospital Clinic metro station (line 5) are close by. In the center see the life on Las Ramblas, the colourful Boqueria market, the Old Town and numerous architectural points of interest. For nightlife try Elephant club, its beautiful setting with outdoor seating is worth a night out. The hotel has been refurbished in 2007 and its 101 rooms all have air conditioning, free wireless internet access, international TV channels and an individual safe. The hotel is also within reach of Sants train station with direct trains to the airport. Mainly used by business travellers during the week the hotel offers attractive rates at weekends. Business class hotel off the beaten track, friendly staff, and a budget price - a good deal all round.

How to reach the hotel?From the airport by car:
Follow the signs for “CENTRO CIUDAD” (city center) The airport highway turns into the Gran Via once you reach the city. Simply continue straight, passing through the tunnel that crosses Plaza de España, until you reach Calle Urgell. Then make a left and continue 500 meters.
From the airport to the hotel by public transportation:
AIRPORT BUS: The Aerobus departs terminals every 15 minutes. It’s quick and comfortable and has plenty of room for baggage. The trip to the hotel is about 20 minutes. The cost is € 3.50 per person. Get off at the Avenida Roma stop. You’ll be at the corner of Calle Urgell, 400 meters from the hotel.
TAXI: You can hail a taxi at the airport terminals. The cost is roughly € 20 to € 30. The trip should take about 15 – 20 minutes.
TRAIN/SUBWAY: The train from the airport departs every 10 minutes, and takes 35 minutes. Get off at Sants Station, and take Line 5 of the metro (the blue line). Get off at the Hospital Clinic stop. The hotel is 60 meters away.

The hotel is finely decorated, with a lot of attention to details. my husband and i tired ourselves out by sightseeing on foot during our time in barcelona, the hotel is fantastically located and a nice stylish place to come home to after a long day of travelling. best feature in the room: heated mirror in a fully black marbled bathroom and remote controlled blinds. 
No english channels on the satalite tv. drinks were slighly on the expensive side at the bar.Anonymous

We recently stayed in the u232 for 3 nights and it was lovely. the hotel was quiet and out of the way of the hustle and bustle of barcelona but was near to the metro and only a cheap cab ride away from all the local sights and places to go. Anonymous

Although we should not have had our rooms at the u232 untill 2pm we arrived early approx 1000 hrs and was told our rooms would be ready in 1 hour. the hotel was tastefully decorated and the rooms where very nice especially the bathroom. the staff on reception and the bar area where very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was not very good food luke warm. also the staff at breakfast where not very cheerful.
