 "Exe Sablon Brussels"
Nice hotel. I like the boutique feel. The room was a good size, with separate toilet from bathroom, a change for many small hotels. The room was missing a kettle, which was quickly supplied on request. However two single beds pushed together (with nothing to hold them together) do not a double room make! this was a twin room, not a double. I think hotels should supply what they actually advertise—I didn't like the two beds rolling apart whenever we moved to the centre of the 'double' bed.

"Good value for money, but could do with some refurbishment"
Central yet quiet location in a very nice neighbourhood. Walking distance from Central Station. The hotel looks a bit worn and could do with some freshening up. Breakfast is expensive (€ 13), there are plenty of places in the area which offer better value. Staff does not speak Dutch. Unbelievable for the capital of Belgium!!

 "The room was chilly"
It was a particularly cold night and even though I turned the heat to the maximum level, the room was still chilly. The toilet also didn't flush properly. Otherwise, the hotel was nice. The location was perfect! The staff was friendly.

"Hotel was ok, more like 3 stars than 4."
The service was excellent, all of them were very helpful and polite. For example, I forgot to check out in time, so they called me 1 hour after the deadline to inform me, but without any forced rush. The room was ok, however I was expecting more from a 4 star hotel with the best reviews online. If you expect it to be 3 star level hotel then it is pretty good. I say this because some of the sheets, walls in the room were stained, and the curtains in the bathroom were going a bit mouldy. Also one of the lamps in the room was clearly broken (And the bulb was non-functional too). Also my chosen room (A room with a double bed) is actually composed of two single beds put together, which is not the same as sleeping in a big bed (There is a ridge in the middle). The pillows were pretty bad. The view out of my window was nothing spectacular either (A run-down building). Everything else in the room was good. The location is one of the best things of the hotel, as it is relatively close to metro-buses-tram stops, close to two churches (To be fair there are quite a few in Brussels), and quite close to a very touristic street (All restaurants/bars/shops spoke English/Spanish or had international menus). However, beware as this also means it will be some of the most expensive places around. Regarding the hotel, it offers a nice buffet breakfast, and has a sauna and gym but never used them. Overall even though it is a nice little hotel, you should consider it to be 3 stars rather than 4. The value for money (110 a night aver., depends on the day) is fine just because everything else is equally expensive or more. I would recommend this for visitors that want to see the city more than staying in the hotel room. Pros: Service, location. Cons: Room

"Room and bed big and comfortable"
Pros: Room and bed big and comfortable. separate toilet and bathroom. excellent location. probably due to the last minute booking and also because we stayed on sunday price was very good.
Cons: Furniture and equipment somewhat dated, breakfast could have been better. sauna did not work on the night of our stay. cleanliness of rooms was okay but you usually expect more from a four stars hotel.

Pros: Hotel was clean and morning staff was quite amiable and friendly than the swing shift. the swing shift staff did not speak english and was quite rude in hospitality service. the breakfast included with the rate was very good and enjoyable. excellent restaurant choices within walking distance from hotel.
Cons: Swing and evening shift staff not very pleasant. the hotel is quite conveniently located near central station in brussels but hard to locate. this could be a huge selling point to visitors travelling by rail. hotel should explicitly tell potential customers how to easily walk to their hotel from this station. we happened by chance upon the hotel from the place de sablon square. serioulsly, not more than a 5 minute walk with luggage in tow. there is one staircase to negotiate but the entrance to the train station is no more than a 5 minute walk.
