The Royal Museum of the Army and Military History in Brussels, Belgium has well over one hundred thousand items on display. This one fact alone makes it rank among the top museums in the world. Marvel at the collection of old weapons and armour from the 8th century to the 19th century. Take a good look at the Belgian Revolution of 1830 that includes weapons, posters, paintings and other artifacts. Also on exhibit are uniforms and equipment belonging to the various units of the Belgian Military Forces (mostly from the rule of King Leopold I and II.)

Interesting note: the section on the technical evolution of weapons features hand guns, experimental models, gunsmith's equipment and automatic machine guns. Of course WWI and WWII are well documented too. Even more fascinating is the Air Hall that plays host to 130 airplanes with a special focus on planes from the Second WW used by the Luftwaffe and the Allied Forces – Spitfires, Mosquitoes etc.
