It's not often you will get the chance to explore an authentic coal mine and find out what really happens underground. The Blegny Mine located in Blegny, Belgium will answer all your questions, and probably even ones you didn't think to ask. The Blegny Mine trip takes about 2 hours and you will see a burning stone, how coal is washed and sorted, what it is like working underground and see a demontration of how to use miners tools.

Your trip to the Blegny Mine can take two separate paths, depending on what appeals to you and your family. Your first option takes you to see all the processes of mining coal – from winning to shipping. You'd get to ride in a miners cage and visit the coal face and underground mine galleries. Option two would be what they call a day ticket.
