Liege shopping is a real experience, one that you will remember for days to come. It's a little different that most places, but a rather neat idea. On Sunday mornings, the oldest street market in Europe takes place. It is situated along the Quai de la Batte in Liege and goes on for a good mile on the city side of the Meuse. This market is so popular that shoppers from abroad (Holland and Germany) come to join in the fun.

If you want to shop in Liege, the market is the spot, but you can also take a stroll around several small pedestrian only streets off Place Saint-Lambert in the Old City. Liege is a great place to buy excellent chocolates made by the some world-class chocolatiers – Galler in the Rue de Pot d'Or and Pierre Marcolini in the Rue de la Regence. Another area that will fascinate you is the central square of the city and the neighboring Place du Marché. Never will you see something so eye catching as the Christmas market showcasing 155 decorated chalets. This is where you come to indulge in your weakness for Belgian chocolate. But you will of course find other stalls with a wide selection of arts, crafts, foods and other products.
