Plopsaland De Panne is a children's theme park near the beach resort/town of De Panne on the Belgian coast. It opened in April of 2000 and has been going great guns since then. Previously, this was called Meli-Park and its theme was based on bees. Whatever you want to call this park, it is a magnet for kids and their families. A perfect place to go while on holidays for the best of the best in amusement. Since 2000 the park has really gotten popular by adding the Belgian and Dutch figures of Studio 100. Studio 100 produces popular children's TV series and owns three amusement parks and four musical ensembles

Plopsaland De Panne attractions all have a theme from one of the soaps or musicbands of the group. They are most certainly not without whimsical names that appeal to children. For instance Kabouter Plop, Samson & Gert, Big & Betsy, Piet Piraat and Wizzy & Woppy. While a mouthful to say the least, the kids get a big bang out of these names and the attractions themselves. Three more attactions were added in 2006: the SuperSplash (in a whole new Piratezone), the SpringFlyer ("Spring" is a popular soap on Belgian television) and a K3-museum. In 2007, Plopsaland De Panne's Kabouter Plop area added two new attractions as well. It's not hard to find your way around this park as it is definitely user friendly. Interesting note: the roller coaster in the Wizzy & Woppy area is the oldest one in Belgium. It opened in 1976. You and your kids could have a blast at this amusement park.
