Limeira Hotels and Accommodation

Limeira was once Brazil’s orange capital and the name of the town, Limeira, comes from a local lime-orange tree. One of the most famous sites in the area is the Fazenda Ibicaba, a Sao Paulo farm. It was here that Nicolau de Campos Vergeiro delivered Brazil’s first wave of immigrants who came to replace slave labor.
On the site of an ancient Jesuit mission dating from 1554 there now exists the Anchieta Chapel. This chapel is meant to replicate the original mission and was built in the 19th century. The Musueu Padre Anchieta is located near the chapel and has several exhibits featuring maps and a large reproduction of an early settlement.
