On the northeast coast of Bulgaria, in the region of Dobrich, you will find the town of Kavarna, a seaside resort sitting beside the shores of the Black Sea. The coastline in this area is very flat and stretches for a distance of 42km with several small beaches along it. The Gore Chirakman looms high above the coast and on a nearby plateau many interesting archeological relics and ruins can be found. At the base of Chirakman are several ancient caves where rare artifacts can still be discovered. The region also boasts some natural mineral springs. Accommodation is still cheap in Bulgaria, so take advantage of a bargain break by booking one of the discount hotels in Kavarana before the prices catch up with other European destinations.
Kavarna has a small port where the local fishing boats and small yachts moor. Close by is Cape Kaliakra, a local beauty spot, and the seaside resort of Rusalka. Golfers come here to play the three 18 hole courses designed by Gary Player, and Ian Woosnam. As well as having shops, bars and restaurants, there is the new resort complex with its own facilities. The town also has an Olympic standard swimming pool. Kavarna is still fairly unknown as a resort, so come and enjoy it before it becomes over commercialized. Many people today put their own holiday packages together, and by booking one of the cheap hotels in Kavarna, you can design a low cost, quality holiday.
