St. Sophia Church is the church honoring the same saint for which the city of Sofia is named. Believed to have been built sometime in the 6th century A.D., it has been the site of a number of churches dating back to Roman rule, and is likely the second oldest church in Bulgaria, after the Church of St. George. If you will be visiting the Church, be sure to see some of the other sights in the city of Sofia, such as the Earth and Man National Museum, the National Museum of Military History, and the Monument to the Unknown Soldier.
The Church is located close to central Sofia, across from Alexander Nevski Cathedral. For online hotel reservations, EasyToBook.com has everything you need, from discount hotels to star rated hotels, cheap hotels, luxurious hotels, all you want within reach.
