Borisova Gradina, known as Boris' Gardens in English, is the beautiful sprawling park at the center of Sofia. First conceived of and founded in 1884, the park has gone through a number of renovations since then, among them the addition of a Japanese corner and an intricate hand-carved wooden house by Racho Angelov. The most recent addition to the park is the reopening in 2007 of Ariana Lake, which lay dried up for many years. Now the lake is open for visitors to go for a row during the summer months, and in the wintertime it's an ice skating rink. If you find yourself there, be sure to see some of the other sights in the city, such as the Sofia Zoo, St. Sophia Church, and Vasil Levsky National Stadium (located in the Gardens also).
Located in the heart of the city, the Garden is just a few minutes away from almost everything . For a place to stay you are at the right address at EasyToBook.com, for all information on dicount hotels or star hotels that you need.
