As one of the oldest train stations in Bulgaria, Varna's current train station building was officially opened in 1925, but the old steel rails have a much longer history than that in the city. Agatha Christie fans will remember the novel Murder on the Orient Express, which stopped at the previous station in Varna from 1883 to 1885.
