Varna Necropolis Hotels
Discovered in 1972 during excavation for an underground cable, the Varna Necropolis (the scientific word for graveyard) has become one of the most important archaeological finds in Europe. The gravesite has been carbon dated to approximately 4,500 B.C., and is supporting evidence that Varna and the surrounding area are the birthplace of European civilization. Some of the gold artifacts discovered in some of the graves are considered the oldest examples of metullargy in the world. Other things to see in Varna include: Varna Beach, Varna Aquarium, and the Roman Thermae, to name just a few.
