Portuguese for “good view”, Boa Vista, one of the islands of Cape Verde, is known for its beautiful dunes and beaches. Located between Africa and South America, the marine turtles, pastel cottages and discount hotels in Boa Vista are great reasons to visit.

Ervatao Beach, from late May to September is the best place to go for turtle watching, since many Caretta turtles come ashore in order to lay eggs. There is some great nightlife in Boa Vista, as well as charming shops, and Sal Rei is the place to find both of these things. The islet Curral Velho is an amazing place to bird watch if this is something that would interest you, also.
