The Hall of Supreme Harmony is the largest of the many Halls within Beijing’s famous Forbidden City. It is located in the middle of the city and features some of the most impressive architecture to be found anywhere in China. Visitors with a cultural bent are certain to be pleased by the three massive marble slabs that form the base of the Hall, as well as the innumerable bronze incense burners that line the structure. Of all the palaces and castles on display, the Hall of Supreme Harmony is actually the largest wooden structure in the entire country.

Dating back to 1406, the Hall features highly impressive and ornate interior decoration with a stylized dragon motif. Six golden pillars adorned with dragons surround the throne of the Emperor, which is itself covered with five intertwined serpentine dragons. Visitors to Beijing are encouraged to see this part of the Forbidden City at all costs.
