For the visitor to Qingdao who has something of a culinary bent, the Qingdao International Beer Festival is just what he or she has been looking for. The festival lasts a whopping sixteen days, so it’s easy to fit it into almost any itinerary. Visitors will enjoy a variety of beers and foods, not just from the Qingdao region, but from all across the world. In addition, there are performances by local artists and bands.

Unofficially, there are usually also quite a few drinking contests that take place at the Festival, and it’s often humorously remarked that women tend to take home the glory here rather than the men.
