Just south of the famous Zhan Bridge, the small Qingdao Island is an important stop for any tourist wishing to get the most out of his or her visit to the scenic and majestic coastal city of Qingdao. Connected to the mainland by an artificially constructed sewall, the island is easily accessible and offers a massive array of impressive fauna such as cherry trees, pomegranates, and hibiscus flowers. All throughout the island, visitors can also enjoy a number of culturally important statues and pavilions.

Yet one more reason to visit the island is its famous “Beacon”, a tall structure of German design built in 1900. It functions today as a lighthouse for guiding ships into the bay, but is worth visiting for a glimpse of the beautiful white marble architecture. It is certain to be a pleasing attraction for any Qingdao tourist. Visitors to Small Qingdao Island can get there easily by simply taking a local bus to Luxun Park and then following the signs.
