Dominating the Shanghai skyline is the beautiful and imposing Jin Mao Tower (also know as the Tower of Golden Prosperity). Rising to a height of 88 stories and 420 meters, the Tower is home to many offices and businesses. Until being overtaken in 2007 by the Shanghai World Financial Center, it was the fifth tallest building in the world. The Tower makes an excellent stop for tourists because not only is it a center of much modern metropolitan business, but its design also draws upon traditional Chinese architecture, with pronounced pagoda stylings.

The Tower is also well known for its attractive occupants, such as the Shanghai Grand Hyatt hotel which offers a banquet hall, a full shopping mall, and even restaurants and nightclubs. It also features one of the tallest atriums in the world, an impressive sight filled with spiraling staircases that make for an incredible view. The Jin Mao Tower is a must-see attraction for any tourist wishing for a taste of modern Shanghai.
