The capital, Santiago de Cali, is home to amazing examples of colonial architecture dating from the time of Spanish exploration. Visitors to the city will want to spend time at the Museo Arqueologico La Merced. Originally a colonial style place of worship, the building is now home to a museum that focuses on pre-Columbian finds and religious art work.
