The city of Dubrovnik is a historic center along the Adriatic Sea that offers tourists the chance to see a glimpse into the distance past through a wealth of museums, galleries and historic buildings. The Sponza Palace is one of the oldest surviving buildings in the city and is now home to the National Archives for Croatia. In addition the St. Blaise Cathedral was built to honor the patron saint of the city. The Lovrijenac Tower is also a must see attraction that is actually part of the historic Fort Lovrijenac, which is located just to the west of the city and was used to monitor entrance to the city by both water and land.
