Lumbarda is a small, picturesque village on the island of Korcula, right where the island is very close to the mainland. A farming village that is situated in the province of Dubrovnik Neretva, it has a very interesting history. Lumbarda was first settled by the Greeks, and later the Romans. You can see what is left of the ancient villas the Romans built if you should visit one of the vineyards where grapes for the wonderful Greek wines are grown. Lumbarda is surrounded by these vineyards. Enjoy the beaches in the area, including a clothing optional beach, the recently constructed walking path, tennis, fishing, water sports, and shopping.
