Tisno, Croatia is a beautiful place with two beaches and a unique configuration. Half of Tisno is on Murter Island and half is on the mainland. There is a drawbridge that is opened twice a day for boats and is used to access both sections of Tisno. There are many discount hotels in Tisno providing great access to the beaches and area attractions. It is highly recommended that visitors be sure to visit Murter Island with its narrow historical Dalmatian streets and konoba serving authentic Dalmatian foods. Visitors can rent a boat and spend all day visiting inlets, reefs and islets. Fisherman can also enjoy excursions around the islands.
During a stay in budget hotels in Tisno, a walk around both parts of the city is in order. There are four old churches in the area named the Church of St. Roko, the Church of Our Lady of Karavaja, the Church of St. Martin and the Church of St. Spirit. Near the church of St. Martin there is a Roman archeological site. Close to Tisno are the Krka and Kornati national parks. Many of the hotels will arrange tours of the parks for guests, but you can also make your own plans.
