The Croatian city of Split is the largest city, as well as a major port in the region of Dalmatia, and represents the principal cultural, administrative, traffic and business center of Central Dalmatia. Split is well connected with the surrounding islands, its hinterland and other ports. The city of Split with its charming Old Town attracts tourists with a whole range of monuments and its rich history, obviously along with its beautiful coast, beaches and sea. Furthermore, it offers many traditional restaurants, in which visitors can sample many different Dalmatian specialties.
