You can truly enjoy the various activities in Cyprus by mingling amoung the sights of Cyprus. Visiting Hilarion Castle in Kyrenia is a top priority on the things to do in Cyprus list. This is one of the major Cyprus attractions that Cyprus tourism offers. The hermit monk, who ran away from maltreatment and discrimination, survived in a cave and lived in this mountain, is none other than St Hilarion himself. He passed away here while living in the cave of this mountain. It was built approximately in the later part of the 11th century.

One of the main reasons behind building the castle was to act as a watchtower signaling the forthcoming attacks of pirates. The Byzantines also constructed a monastery and a church here. Interestingly the castle has three divisions – horses and the soldiers occupied the lower tier, the top for the defending the major way in, and the imperial palace engaged the middle tier. So you cannot rule out of visiting the St. Hilarion Castle, which is an interesting item on your list of things to do in Cyprus.
