The Ferdinand Brewery did not begin life as one of the sights of Benešov. It started in nearby Konoposte in probably the 14th century. In the 1890s, the owner of the region, Franz Ferdinand, moved the brewery to Benešov. By the time WWI rolled around, the brewery was fully functional, although there were some financial problems during the 1920s. Today, it is still creating fine brews, including Old Bohemian Beer.
