Karlstejn is a small village a short distance from Prague, situated on the banks of the Berounka River. Karlstejn is most famous for a gothic castle which the village was named for. The castle was built in the year 1348 by Charles IV, a Holy Roman Emperor. This castle can be seen from all over Karlstejn as a landmark.
