The town of Hustopece is located in the southern Moravia region of the Czech Republic in the district of Breclav. There are about 6,000 people living there today. If you ever visited Hustopece before 1961, you will probably remember that no matter where you chose your discount Hustopece hotel, you could see the 74 meter high steeple of the gothic Church of St. Wenceslaus. Unfortunately, the steeple collapsed in 1961 and the government ordered the structure demolished. A modern style church was built on the spot in the early 1990s, though at the shorter height of 52 meters you may not be able to see it from every budget hotel in Hustopece.

Until WWII, a large percentage of Hustopece’s residents were ethnic Germans. As a result, there are several monuments in the town related to Jewish history. Find the best cheap hotels in Hustopece on EasyToBook.com. The Hustopece Synagogue was built in the late 19th century, but it is no longer a place of worship. The Hustopece Jewish Cemetery was first created in 1886. Unfortunately it was replaced by a park in the 1980s. A monument to the cemetery is all that remains of the original site today. The City Museum and Gallery of Hustopece is found in the U Synku building which dates to 1579.
