If you feel like viewing stars, take a trip to the Prague Planetarium. This is the largest venue of this kind in the Czech Republic. Jaroslav Fragner was the designer of the building in the late 1950s. The opening occurred in 1960. Since then, the original circular edifice has undergone a facelift. Changes in the 1990s saw several additions and improvements. There are now two halls: the large Cosmorama and the smaller Starvid.

In the Prague Planetarium, you can relax beneath the stars. Sit back and enjoy the show on the Cosmorama Screen. Here, the Universe engulfs and surrounds you. Up to 250 spectators may enjoy the show. You can catch a multi-visual program in the evening. Starvid Hall offers computer animation and utilizes virtual reality. After the show, you can wander through the astronomical exhibit in the Main Hall. You can also purchase maps, posters and other related astronomy publications.
