The largest and principal venue for concerts is Smetana Hall. It resides as part of the Art Nouveau building, the Municipal building. This beautiful structure is a large building containing offices, restaurants, various halls and cafes. It is also a work of art. The architecture of the exterior of the Municipal Building carries over into the interior. It extends into and is integral to the atmosphere of the Smetana Hall.

The Smetana Hall dates from 1906-1912. It sits beneath a dome in the Municipal building. The dome is a glass Art Nouveau structure. The dome and the Hall are the core of the Municipal Building. On both sides of the stage in Smetana Hall, there are sculptures. Those on one side represent the Vyšehrad Legends; those on the other reveal Slavonic dances. You can come to the Hall for a major concert. While here, you should wander around and look at the beautiful sculpture and Art Nouveau details of the overall building.
