The Old Town Square is the oldest square in Prague. It is the heart of the city. It is also home to many old buildings of historical and cultural significance. At the House of the Stone table (No. 18) in the early 1900s, you could have met Franz Kafka or Albert Einstein. Smetana had a private musical school at No.20 (At the Unicorn). There was a tavern at No. 25 – At the Blue Goose. Of particular interest, however, is the Storch House or At the Stone Madonna (At the Stone Virgin Mary), No.16.

The Storch House dates from 1897. It is a pink Neo-Renaissance structure. The façade is the most prominent attraction. It features a late 19th century image or mural of St. Wenceslas riding on horseback. The artist was L. Novak. He based it on a design by Mikuláš Aleš. There are also figurative images of the Three Magi. Look up to see the frescoes positioned above the door. They include the Bavarian coat of arms.
