"I booked the hotel for us and another couple to celebrate my 50th birthday"
Pros: I booked the hotel for us and another couple to celebrate my 50th birthday. i was delighted to see a bottle of champagne on ice as i walked in to our room, a lovely touch. it is always difficult to judge from a web site, but location was perfect; away from the main stream of tourists but close enough to enjoy within walking distance.
Cons: The staff were very helpful, however there was one occasion where we wanted to pay cash for bar drinks but then realised we were not eligable for the discount as residents. it took a bit of persuation to change the bill but we got there in the end. we booked hotel transfer from the airport and had informed them that it was 4 adults with luggage for 4 days. the car provided was not adequate and the driver did his best to get our luggage into the boot(not easy to watch). my husband had a case on his lap for the transfer. the hotel did arrange for a larger vehicle on our return however we did have to remind them that they had agreed to charge it at a reduced cost because of our arrival experience.
