The Dvóřák Museum is in the confines of a two-story red and ochre Rococo building. The mansard roof is beautifully tiered. There is a fine iron, gate entryway as well as statues in the garden by Matthias Braun dating from 1735. The interior features 18th century frescoes on the ceilings and walls by Jan Ferdinand Schor. Within, you will also be able to see the composer’s desk, piano and viola as well as personal memorabilia and belongings. There are his glasses and his musical scores together with his Cambridge cap and gown and various photographs. Try to visit during one of the many recitals of chamber music that take place. It will truly help him and his world come alive.
