Many people like to shop. They arrive in a new city and head straight for the main shopping areas. In Prague, there are many different distinct types of shopping areas. For an interesting shopping experience, try the historic passageway known as the Černá růže or Black Rose. Here, you can meander through nearly 50 stores and restaurants. At the same time, do not neglect the architectural significance and accomplishment of this structure.

The Black Rose is a complex consisting of two separate buildings from the 19th century. An arcade unites them. It extends upwards for two storeys. This arrangement dates back to 1932 when Oldřich Tyl, a functionalist architect constructed a basic overhang between the two structures along Na Příkopě street to Panská street. Within the Black Rose Arcade, you should notice the glass and concrete vault and the two floor galleries. You can admire the construction while you make purchases or window shop.
