Prague and the Czech Republic have Dancing and Singing fountains. The splash of water alone or in time with music creates a colorful and tuneful display. Yet, fountains are not the only inanimate structure that sing and dance in this country. Prague is home to the Dancing Building.

The Dancing Building, also called the Fred (Astaire) and Ginger (Rogers) building, is a piece of modern architecture. The designers are Vlado Milunič and a Canadian, Frank OGery. The latter is responsible for another controversial structure in Paris. This edifice, home to an insurance company, is a melding and twisting of two base substances: concrete and steel. It rises in close proximity to both ugly Communist block apartments and older historic buildings. The Dancing Tower on the river embankment has staggered windows, as opposed to the symmetrical and even variety. The narrow-waist structure, through these devices, has a unique appearance. Moreover, at a glance it appears to dance. To get the full affect, you will need to stand on the other side of the river.
