Kinsky Palace Details

The Palác Kinský or Kinský Palace is the work of the architect Kilian Ignaz Dietzenhofer. His work is in major cities across the Czech Republic. In Prague, the Kinský Palace is representative of his Rococo approach. The Rococo balcony thrusts itself out over the the pink and white façade elaborately decorated with stucco. On the peak of the palace, stands a statue of the four elements. The sculptor is Ignaz Franz Platzer. The former palace for Count Golz gained its name from the Imperial Diplomat, Štépán Kinský the owner in 1768. It is now the home of another collection of the National Gallery of Prague. These are the Graphic Arts. In Kinský Palace, you can see the works of Georges Braque, Andre Derain and Pablo Picasso. In this gallery, you can admire Picassos 1907 Self Portrait. The Gallery also houses temporary and travelling international exhibits. In the past, there have been retrospective shows on Rembrandt and Max Ernst.
