Hotels in Hovedstaden
Hovedstaden is a region of Denmark. The literal translation, from Danish, is the Capital Region of Denmark. The region was formed on the 1st January 2007 and includes the towns and cities of Helsingor, Frederiksborg, Frederiksberg and most importantly, the Danish Capital, Copenhagen. It also encompasses the island of Bornholm which is located 160 KM Southeast of Copenhagen. Ferry services leave from Koge (near Copenhagen) and run to Bornholm. A different dialect of Danish exists on the island. This region is connected to Malmo, in Sweden, via the Oresund Bridge which is said to be the longest border crossing in the world. Whatever your reason for visiting this part of Denmark, you are assured that there is something to do for everyone. Travelling out from the capital, you will discover the quaint Danish towns and villages which may seem as though they have come straight from a Hans Christian Anderson fairy tale. Copenhagen itself has absolutely everything that you can expect from a contemporary and cosmopolitan capital city. Here you will find excellent shopping facilities. An abundance of different types of restaurants and many popular tourist attractions. By far the most popular of these is the Little Mermaid statue and Tivoli Gardens which is the most delightful theme park and situated right in the heart of the City.
