The Statens Museum for Kunst is an amazing museum located in Copenhagen. The building that houses the museum is well over 100 years old though the look and feel of the facility is very modern. A new annex was recently added along with a courtyard where sculptures are displayed. The museum itself is the National Gallery where over 8,000 pieces of work are displayed. The works date to at least the 13th century and through the modern era. Master artists such as Rubens, Mantegna, and Fragonard can be found here; not to mention countless other of Italian, French, and Danish fame.
The museum has every modern amenity and luxury available. The amphitheater hosts lectures and concerts. Visitors love the glass ceiling that connects the two buildings; old and new, together. There is even a restaurant and bookstore in the museum. Art lovers, appreciators, and everyone else will adore the Statens Museum for Kunst.
