The Flintholm Station is a main interchange point for the city’s S Train and Metro systems. It has two levels; the Lower Ring level, and the Upper Level. Flintholm Station is covered by a huge glass roof that makes it a Copenhagen landmark. The roof seems to float above the structure. The architectural design is quite unique, and required 3,000 tons of steel to build.
Because of its innovative look, Flintholm Station has won the Danish Steel Award, a diploma from the Brunel Awards, and a beauty award from the Danish Association for the Beautification of the Capital. It has also won the very prestigious European Steel Award.
