Aalborg is a very popular tourist destination in the North Jutland region of Denmark and it is a great place to spend a quiet weekend. Aalborg is quite accessible with flights arriving daily from both Heathrow and London Gatwick. Aalborg hotels are centrally located close to the pedestrianised shopping area and if you are looking for discount hotels, Aalborg will not let you down. If you are interested in art then the North Jutland Art Museum is an excellent stop on your trip and is located in Aalborg. Cheap hotels tend to be located a little more out of town so be prepared to travel or use the city’s excellent public transport if you plan on staying in one of these. You should be able to find plenty of information on such hotels on EasyToBook.com.
If you are interested in architecture then you should definitely try and visit the Jens Bangs Stenhus which is famous for being one of Europe’s largest Renaissance town houses, and if you are visiting in the Winter then make sure you do not miss the Obels Plads, a square that is turned into an ice rink for the winter months. You should make a special effort to see the North Jutland art museum, the Aalborg congress and culture centre, the Jens Bangs Stenhus and Jomfru Ane Street.
