Denmark is located at the mouth of the Baltic Sea. The capital of Denmark, Copenhagen, is located on the island of Sjealland. In Norse Mythology it is said that the island was created by the mythical goddess Gefjun, after she played a trick on Gylfi, the king of Sweden. It is told that she removed a piece of land and transported it to Denmark. Thereafter it became known as the island of Sjealland. The area left vacant by the removal of the piece of land was filled with water, and is said to be the hole left by Gefjun. Sjealland has a population of only 5,500 and is quite popular to travelers and tourists in the summer season. This seaside town is one of the oldest on the island of Zealand. Both it and the local church date back to the 13th century.
