The Portobello Hotel is perfectly located in Dublin City centre along the Grand Canal and within short distance to the main city attractions as the Point Depot, RDS, Landsdown Road and Croke Park. The new Luas is only 2-minutes walk. Right beside the traditional Portobello Pub the Portobello hotel is a 10-minute walk to the City centre.

The shopping areas of Grafton Street, the major theatres and the hub of Temple Bar are also only a short stroll away, ideal for exploring the city centre on foot.

How to reach the Portobello Hotel? How to reach the Portobello Hotel?
Dublin International Airport: Approximate driving time to Portobello Hotel is 40 minutes and distance is 12 kilometres (7.5 miles).

From and to Dublin International Airport : Aircoach offers a service from Dublin’s city centre and Dublin south to and from the airport. The service runs 24 hours, every day. Tickets can be purchased from the bus driver and cost approximately €10 (return). Alternatively, taxis are available at the airport and the fare to the hotel is typically €30.

Getting around: Dublin's extensive bus network (green double-deckers) serves the centre and the suburbs. Taxis are expensive and can be hard to come by. Parking is scarce, but a car is a great way to get off the beaten track; the centre of Dublin is best explored on foot.

We stayed here for 4 nights and really enjoyed our stay, we found the staff freindly and helpful, our room was very clean, the bed and towels were changed daily, and the breakfast was great.
The parking outside the hotel is pay and display, and cost 2.4 euros an hour, between 8am and 6 pm,we found this got a bit exspensive.

Have been to portobello hotel several times - the staff and services are excellent. was very pleased this time as we actually for the first time had a room overlooking the canal which was very nice - will certainly return again when we have to come to dublin.

The hotel was good for what you pay for and the price included a nice breakfast. our room was big and on the third floor and fit myself and two others comfortably. the beds were nice and up to date.
The bathroom could have been in a bit better condition, it always looked a little dirty and the shower curtain was a nightmare. we were on the third floor so we could never hear the music coming from the club, but i can imagine that the first floor guests were very unhappy.

We had a great stay at the portebello. receptionist was very friendly and helpful. there was a room discount at the time so it was very good value for our money. the room was roomy enough for us and the beds were quite comfortable. we had a nice bath and tub. the room also included a hot breakfast.
Although some attractions are still within walking distance to the hotel, it is a bit far from the main sites. we had to take a cab at night but it wasn't too expensive.

I went to the portobello with my girlfriend for a romantic trip away and we very much enjoyed our stay, we found the staff to be very polite, the breakfast was good, the room was big and had a good view and was much better than expected, and the distance into town was about 15 minutes which was a fairly pleasant walk. i would definitely recommend it.
