Iconic and impressive the Pyramids of Giza are usually the first image that appears when someone says ‘Egypt’. Constructed in the Old Kingdom during the third and fourth dynasty these pyramids have become ingrained in the imagination of mankind for generations. These boats are an important fixture in ancient myths as Ra, the Sun God, rode a boat through the night to bring his light back to the land of Egypt.
The Pyramids of Giza are just a short distance from Cairo which makes travel easy and a little less arduous. While visiting these Pyramids, take the opportunity to see the Sphinx who guards the land and the Pharaohs.
