Estonia has approximately 50 hospitals. They are placed in a hierarchy with the smallest and lowest tending to be Care hospitals. The highest on the scale and the largest are Regional Hospitals. Tallinn is home to many fine hospitals (7) providing care to people in the city and the region around it. The East-Tallinn Central Hospital is a Central Hospital. It is one of two in the city. The other is the West-Tallinn Central Hospital. East Tallinn Central hospital serves the sector of the city called East-Tallinn and Harju. You can find it on Ravi Street.
East Tallinn Central hospital consists of six clinics. These are the heart of the services of the hospital. They include a Women’s Clinic, International Disease Clinic, Radiology Clinic, Eye Clinic and Consultative Clinic. The East-Tallinn Hospital has several departments devoted to various services. They include surgery, urology, traumatology and orthopaedics. The East-Tallinn Central hospital is also involved in several EU projects. These encourage and create better international cooperation among countries.
