It is always nice to bring back a souvenir from somewhere you have spent time visiting. It involves shopping, but shopping can be fun for even the most sceptic and critical people. In Tallinn, you can find almost anything you want in a few blocks. At the same time, you can sight see and enjoy the ambience of the Old Town.

The most popular places to shop for those treasures are found along two streets. These are Viru and Müürivahe Streets. There are stylish boutiques, large department stores, small shoppes and grander malls. Here, you can locate fashionable clothing, sweet scents and stylish shoes. On Müürivahe Street, you must visit the famous outdoor knit market. Here, you can choose from hundreds of knitted clothing and items made by local craftswomen. If you branch off to the Katarina Passage, you can purchase newly wrought ceramics, glasswork, leather goods and quilted handicrafts from the members of the Katariina Guilds. You can watch them create before your very eyes in their workshops. Be on the look out for some of truly Estonian souvenirs. They include woolen sweaters knitted according to traditional patterns and Estonian chocolate.
