The Helsinki University of Technology, or as its known in Finnish, Teknillinen Korkeakoulu, is known as the most important and prestigious school of techical learning and research in all of Finland. You’ll find the school in Otaniemi, Espoo, in the Greater Helinski area. With 246 professors teaching about 15,000 students, the school offers 19 different degree programs, and as per the definition of a Finnish technical school, only teaches to the Master’s degree level and higher.
The degrees available at the Helsinki University of Technology include engineer’s degrees, degrees in architecture, landscape architecture, and Licenciates and Doctorates in technology. One of the most famous points of interest at the school would be the Low Temperature Lab, which has set a world record for achieving the lowest artificially created temperature. The school, sometimes known as TKK, was originally established back in 1849 by the Imperial decree of then Russian Emperor, Nicholas I, Grand Duke of Finland.
