We stayed for nine nights and would have to say our stay was quite pleasant. Our superior room was clean, comfortable and spacious, and included tea/coffee making facilities however a fridge would have been useful. Its a short walk to the train station and tramway so it makes exploring the area all the more easier, although its about 20 to 30 minutes walk to the old town. I agree with some of the other reviews that the location is a little rough however we encountered no problems and it's reassuringly close to a main street, although it can be a bit noisy at night. We found the reception staff a little unfriendly however any of our requests were promptly dealt with. All in all our stay was quite good and served as a good base to explore the area, although on value for money it's probably a little expensive for what you get!

The Receptionist was pleasant and helpful when we arrived, the room was dissapointing, decor was far too dark and sombre, dark brown carpet, curtains, furniture, even the walls were dark. The room was overlooked by the building opposite requiring the curtains to be drawn in the daytime for privacy as there were no net curtains or blinds, poor bedroom lighting created a very depressing atmosphere. The Bathroom was small and very basic.

Pros: The rooms are really nice, warm, also the hotel lobby has a very nice decoration. i asked a balcony, and they could give us a room with a nice balcony. the room size is quite big, confortable, with water heater for tea and coffee.nice brown colours, nice decoration.they are animal frendly!
Cons: If i would be a little bit fat, i wouldn't manage to go inside the shower. the balcony didn't have table and chairs, but i took outside the chairs from the room. :) on that area there are mostly foreigners from india, africa, but also a police station, so it's not dangerous at all.

Cons: Note that while this hotel is in close proximity to the train station, the area is a little on the "sketchy" side.
be extremely careful when booking a single room in this hotel, you may get stuck with the dreaded "closet" (a.k.a. room 305). this room is very tiny and not quite as large as the average "single" in this hotel. in room 305, a twin-sized bed is squeezed into a space a few feet from the door and there is absolutely no space to move around in the room! btw, the hotel also has a couple of other single rooms that are almost as small. when we attempted to switch rooms, the staff member (a middle-aged, balding man with glasses) told us the hotel was full and there were absolutely no other rooms available--we'd have to wait until the next morning to see if someone checked out. when we returned to the hotel a few hours later, after dinner, a new staff member was on duty and told us that there were actually several other rooms available and we were able to switch. also, the air conditioning didn't work in one of the rooms we booked. we submitted a request and guess what? they didn't bother to fix it! :)
