Cimitiere Attenant au Monastere de Cimiez Nice

Overlooking the city from the Cimiez hilltop, the Cimitiere Attenant au Monastere de Cimiez is not one to inspire morbid thoughts, instead it offers a view into the best sights of Nice. Practically all the graves in this cemetery are ancient and a majority of them are individual chapels made of white marble, with some bearing beautiful sculptures. However, there are particularly two graves in this cemetery that truly holds its allure and these are those of the painters Henry Matisse and Raoul Dufy. These painters both died in Nice. While you can easily see the grave of Matisse, Dufy's small and discreet one is quite low and almost hidden from view.
