This large depot sits on the eastern side of town. It is not the only train station serving Nice and region. It is, in fact, one of several train stations. These include Nice Ville, Nice Riquier and Nice St. Augustin. Sncf de Nice Saint Roch Station handles both passengers and freight on a daily basis. The station building itself is an attractive structure.
Nice Saint Roch Station is by far the largest train station of the area. The land available for train use covers 22 hectares. The freight and passenger train yard does not utilize all this space. SNFC may sell off some of the land in the near future. Even if it does take this step, the trains will continue to operate from this station. The route will continue to run from Nice to Breil, Tende, Limone and Cuneo. The entire trip usually takes three hours. You can go from Nice to Tende as well.
