"Charming restored farm house"

«La Foulerie» is one of the group of old farmhouses, typical for the area Pré-Bocage. We restored it in preserving and respecting the tradition. It is located 20 minutes away from Bayeux, in a charming little town Cahagnes.

Pros: A charming 12th century b&b villa where the host, miriam, shares her vast knowledge of normandy's d-day and medieval

locations to help you plan your adventures. this is our second stay and we were still delighted by the welcome from

miriam's menagerie of friendly dogs, cats and rabbits! only five minutes walk from the city centre, you are made to

feel welcome and miriam will do her best to ensure you find bayeux's finest food and attractions. breakfast is good

with croissants and baguettes plus a daily surprise like crepes or home-made apple tart. off-road parking is available

(and advised) if requested. there is a small shared lounge/kitchenette with microwave and basic implements if you want

to cook for yourself. the free wifi was very much appreciated.
we have again, as before, enjoyed our stay very much and would love to come back!

Pros:
my family (two adults & two teenage children) spent four nights at aggarthi in october. we stayed in the family room which was a beautifully decorated two room suite with ensuite facilities. we found myriam & her family to be excellent hosts who were very attentive to all our needs. the breakfasts which were served in the family dining room were delicious & plentiful & consisted of crepes, croissants, bread, orange juice & coffee. myriam was very knowledgeable of bayeux & the surrounding areas & we found her advice invaluable. at myriam's suggestion we hired a car for three days & with her detailed directions we were able to visit most of the d day landing beaches, museums & war cemeteries; honfleur, tourville & deauville; mont st michel & the bayeux tapestry. bayeux was a great base from which to explore normandy & aggarthi was conveniently located within easy walking distance of bayeux's attractions, the train station & the town centre. we really enjoyed our stay at aggarthi & would highly recommend it.

Cons: The only negative was that the free wifi was not available in our room. we were able to access it in the communal kitchen area but as this was close to the rooms of other guests we were reluctant to use it late at night for fear of disturbing them.
