Bénouville Hotels and Accommodation
The town of Bénouville is situated in the province of Calvados. This is sited in the Basse-Normandy region of northern France. The town is located on the canal de Caen á la mer, close to the city of Caen. The town of Bénouville is famous for its World War II History. It was here that the Pegasus Bridge was the first bridge to be taken after the invasion on June 6th 1944, during Operation Overlord. The original bridge has now been replaced by a replica and there is a museum to the event in the town, alongside the canal. EasyToBook.com will arrange cheap hotel accommodation in this area for you.
Also in the town is the Château de Bénouville, which is a major monument of neo-classical architecture from the end of the 18th century. Its monumental staircase and somewhat severe exterior architecture were very modern at the time and it is situated on the west side of the canal de Caen. This town is the ideal place to use as a base for exploring the World War II Battle beaches. There are good transport links in this region and these conveniently connect with the rest of France. This includes a fast auto route to Paris.
