Corderie Royale/Royal Rope Factory Rochefort

One of the greatest gems in the heritage of French heritage, the Corderie Royale, which is 374 metres in length and 8 metres in width, is set on an oak raft. This makes the factory quite an amazing piece of structure, which is compounded by the fact that riggings and ropes for the use of the Navy were made in it until the year 1867. Having been constructed starting 1666, more than 350 boats were completed in the rope factory for an expanse of 250 years.
